Waste Bins

There are 4 large recycling bins. Bins are collected on Thursdays but should be put out on Wednesday night as they can be collected very early on Thursday morning. The council are no longer issuing each household with a printed timetable. Please use the button on the right to check on the schedule for our estate. As a quick guide, the bins should be filled as follows -

Small Brown Caddy – must only be used in conjunction with the special compostable liner bags provided free by Fife Council, to collect kitchen food waste.

Green – all types of plastic bottles, containers, wrappings, bags, cans and tins.  Emptied 4 weekly

Grey – paper and cardboard.  Emptied 4 weekly

Brown – garden waste and food waste caddy bags.  Emptied every 2 weeks dropping to every 4 weeks in the winter.

Blue – landfill general waste.  Emptied every 2 weeks

There are recycling collection points throughout the town including at all the main supermarkets, for glass and clothing etc.  The nearest main recycling centre is located in Dalgety Bay.  Fife Council also provides a bulky uplift service for a fee.
